Russian Elena Dementeva spoilt Serena Williams` return to tennis-court
American Serena Williams, who returned to tennis-court after series of traumas, was defeated by Russian Elena Dementeva with smashing score 3:6, 1:6. The game, which took place within the frames of exhibition tournament in Hong Kong, lasted only for 57 minutes. This is the first victory over Serena Williams in Dementeva`s career.
"I have never won Serena before, and today I tried to play in my normal manner - aggressive and attacking, - emphasized Dementeva after the game. - I tried to benefit on my servings and today I did my best. When you are playing with such tennis player as Serena Williams, no matter if she is in good or bad shape, you should play every ball to the end".
As a reminder, Dementeva ended last season with 3 defeats in WTA tournament in Los-Angeles.
In semi-final Demeteva will meet with winner of the match Cleisters - Tszi. In another semi-final will play the strongest among pairs Davenport-Vadisova and V.Williams-Mirza.
